Ernest C. ‘Ernie’ Robbs – Voice Of Muscatine


Ernest C. ‘Ernie’ Robbs, 86, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at First Baptist Church. Pastor Matthea Haecker will officiate. Burial will take place in Roselle Graniteview Cemetery, Roselle, Missouri. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Ernie was born on July 4, 1938, in Fredericktown, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Myrtle Matthews Robbs. He married Joy L. Rice on June 18, 1960, in the Tabernacle in Roselle, Missouri. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary together.

He graduated from Fredericktown High school and attended Southeast Missouri State University. Ernest worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance in St. Louis and was an insurance underwriter for EMC Insurance in Des Moines. After his retirement he drove cars for Enterprise in Muscatine.

Ernie was very involved in church and was a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, good food and most of all, loved his family.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Joy of Muscatine; his children, Eddie Robbs (Joyclynn) of Highland, IL, Pastor Dan Robbs (Joyce) of Muscatine, and Brian Robbs (Pearl) of Prairieville, LA; grandchildren, Richard (Missy), Maria (Cody), Alan (Cynthia), Elizabeth (Baldemar), Matthew (Hannah), Rebekah, David (Rebekah), Brittany (Caleb), and Paul; great grandchildren, Milo, Colton, Jensen, Ezekiel, Wesley, Mia, Jonathan, Clara, Adaline, Maddox, Isaac, Brooklyn, and Carter; Sisters, Mary Northcutt and Helen McCormick, both of Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Tom, John, Virginia, and Doris.
