The City of Muscatine is pleased to announce that the official date and time for Halloween Trick-or-Treating will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Children and families across the city are invited to participate in the holiday fun.

Mayor Brad Bark made the announcement during the Muscatine City Council meeting Thursday (Oct. 17).

Residents that would like to take part are encouraged to turn on their porch lights during the designated hours to welcome trick-or-treaters. The City of Muscatine asks that everyone follow safety guidelines to ensure a fun and safe experience for all participants.

Safety Tips:

  • Ensure costumes are visible in the dark by using reflective tape or glow sticks.
  • Only approach homes with porch lights on.
  • Parents and guardians are encouraged to accompany young children and inspect all treats before consumption.
  • Additional safety tips can be found at healthychildren.org.

Motorists are asked to drive with caution due to increased pedestrian activity.

BEFORE THAT ….

The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a scary good time this Halloween at the All Hallows Trunk or Treat event taking place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at Kent Stein Park. Children are reminded to wear their Halloween costumes and bring their own trick-or-treat bag, while parents and/or caregivers are urged to dress up as well in honor of the Halloween season.

Children will have the opportunity to gather goodies and show off their costumes as they visit the ghoulish delights of the many decorated vehicles lined up in Kent Stein Park (north side of Oneida Avenue) that night. Attendees may park in Kent Stein Park (on the south side of Oneida Avenue) or just a short walk away at the Muscatine Soccer Complex.
