The City of Muscatine and the Department of Public Works (DPW) will conduct an on-line public surplus auction November 4-18. The items for bid contain a variety of items that were declared surplus by the Muscatine City Council on October 17.
All items are available to bid on through the auction web site www.publicsurplus.com starting November 4, and running through 3 p.m. on November 18. Potential bidders can go to that website, search for Iowa, and then City of Muscatine for the auction items. You must register to view the listed items and to bid on the items.
Some of the items on the auction block are:
- 8 old park benches from Park Maintenance.
- 10 concrete light poles from Park Maintenance.
- Old salt spreader from Parks Maintenance.
- Old truck mounted snow plow from Park Maintenance.
- 2 desks from WPCP.
- GMC Sonoma pickup truck, has been replaced, rusted frame, from Community Development.
- Transit buses number 246, 251, 252. These have all been replaced and offered on the DOT’s website and nobody else wanted them, from Transit.
- GMC single axle dump trucks number 114 and 136. These have been replaced.
- 3 point mounted spreader from Park Maintenance.
- 1986 GMC one ton dump truck, new truck is on order from WPCP.
- 100” Kubota mower deck from Park Maintenance.
- 60” belly mower from Park Maintenance.
- 2010 F-250 pickup truck from Kent Stein Park.
