Muscatine City Council to hold public hearing on WHSSP Phase 6D – Voice Of Muscatine


A long list of action items, mostly in regards to Tax Increment Financing, are on the Muscatine City Council agenda for Thursday (Nov. 7) along with a public hearing on the potential environmental impacts of Phase 6D of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project.

The public is welcomed, and encouraged, to attend when the Council meets at 6 p.m. Thursday in the City Council Chambers on the second flood of Muscatine City Hall.  The meeting is open to all individuals regardless of language spoken or disability. The first seven Tax Increment Financing (TIF) resolutions are in regards to the advancement of funds that will be used to create debt to be used as rebates for various TIF projects. The second group of 14 resolutions will be used for the rebate obligations of the various TIF projects.

Also on the Council agenda is:

  • Approval of the contract and bond with Park Associates for the Pocket Park Playground Development at 6th and Orange as part of the Ignite Vitality: Mulberry, a Neighborhood Revitalization Project.
  • Acceptance for the completed work performed by Sulzco, LLC, for the Weed Park Lagoon Project.
  • Review of the proposed removal of three trees around Casey’s Landing Rock in Riverside Park and the planting of additional trees.
  • Approve a request for a purchase order to Heuer Construction, Inc., for the repair and replacement of sections of Dick Drake Way.
