The Department of Public Works (DPW) is continuing their annual Leaf Collection Program, a free service offered to residents of Muscatine during the fall and again in the spring each year.
DPW crews are working in Zone 4 today and are averaging one zone per day. The leaf vacuum trucks will not be out on Monday due to the Veterans Day holiday but will resume their efforts on Tuesday in Zone 5.
DPW has one to three trucks out collecting leaves this year, depending on the amount of leaves being raked to the curb by residents and the need for the crews to be dispatched for other work assignments. Each zone does not have an assigned date for collection with the DPW crews moving through each zone in order. They will continue this rotation until they are unable to do so due to the weather or there are no move leaves to collect.
