Patricia Ann Reidel, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Terrace Glen Village in Marion.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Grant Ranch Grub and Pub, 121 South Jefferson Street, Sigourney, Iowa 52591. Family encourages casual dress and suggests wearing the attire of your favorite sports team.
A private burial will take place in Ss. Peter and Paul Clear Creek Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Patricia was born on November 8, 1946, in Sigourney, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Hammes) Meyer. She married Greg Reidel, they later divorced.
She worked as a CNA for 35 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. Colleagues often described Pat as very hardworking. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, shopping, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren. A big fan of holidays, Pat went out of her way to make them special. She was known for cooking up delicious baked goods, including chocolate chip cookies and apple dumplings. Patricia raised her family as a single mother in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. Upon retirement, she returned to her hometown of Sigourney.
Patricia is survived by her children, Thomas Reidel and wife, Heather, and Jennifer Peterson and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Alex Peterson, Ty Peterson, Darran Ritchie and wife, Kiersten, Tristan Reidel, Jayden Reidel, and Conner Reidel; great grandchildren, Daxon, Maverick, and Zoey Ritchie; siblings, Ron Meyer, Dan (Danette) Meyer, Fran (Merrell) Vannier, Jean (Denny) Duncan, Ed (Denise) Conrad, Rita (Jerry) Sheetz, and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Frederick ‘Corky’ Meyer; as well as two nieces and a nephew, Tasha, Stephanie and Ryan Meyer.
