David Leo Dierickx – Voice Of Muscatine


David Leo Dierickx, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Simpson Memorial Home, in West Liberty.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty or St. Croix Hospice, in honor of David Dierickx. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Dave was born on March 7, 1931, in Clinton, the son of Leo and Alberta Lange Dierickx. He married Betty Mae Fanth on June 15, 1951.

He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1954. Dave enjoyed cutting his lawn and firewood, working, trucking, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and spending time together. He was an exceptional welder, farmer, and millwright.

Dave is survived by his children, David Dierickx (Shirley), Steve Dierickx (Barb), Robert Dierickx (Cindy), Mary Costello (Friend, Jim), and Deb Brown (Don Hoffman); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; sister, Margaret Skaare; and granddaughter, Steph.
