Syngenta focused on next generation traits
The head of Syngenta’s global seeds research says the company is focused on next generation traits.
Gusui Wu says among other things, Syngenta is pursuing a new generation of weed control.
“Taking advantage of the new mode of action herbicides that is developed in our crop protection pipeline. New herbicides that are coming along within the next decade.”
He says Syngenta will use new transgenic technologies that will accelerate product development.
“Genome editing is a breakthrough technology we believe will have significant impact on traits as well as our breeding process.”
Wu says Syngenta will collaborate with others, including farmers, to produce a robust R & D pipeline of next generation crop traits. He spoke during the recent Syngenta Media Summit.
