Wisconsin offers off-farm job search resource

The Wisconsin Farm Center now offers a job hunter’s workbook for farmers seeking off-farm employment.

Program Supervisor Dan Bauer says the free tool is part of a holistic approach to help the state’s farmers get supplemental or replacement jobs away from the farm. “They might be operating. They might be working on transitioning their business or they may be looking at exiting the farming business and that’s really the gap that this workbook looks to fill.”

Farmer Wellness Program Coordinator Karen Endres says the first part of the new workbook helps farmers deal with changes they may not have experienced before and helps them show their skills to potential employers.
