
As the United States and Mexico consult on the biotech provisions required in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says it’s important the trade relationship remains science-based.
“Whether its corn, soybeans or cotton. If you’re creating a concern about the safety or the effectiveness of a particular technology based on culture, that’s an issue. It undermines the whole trading process.”
Vilsack says he is hopeful both countries can get to a better place.
