Wisconsin sees wet, cold weather in March

March has been wet and cold across Wisconsin.

The USDA says most of the state had double the normal snowfall for the month while average statewide temperatures were a half a degree below usual levels.

That snow covered up winter crops and pastures that were just starting to show some green and has made manure hauling more difficult, even as farmers prep for spring planting.

The USDA says there is optimism about production during maple syrup season.
